Where work requires a licence, it is carried out by an appropriately licensed contractor. Linc Point coordinates the enquiry, the quote process and the customer communication.
The full statement
Linc Point provides quoting support, customer communication and job coordination services. Linc Point is not a licensed building contractor and does not perform, supervise, certify or warrant regulated trade work.
All regulated work is quoted, contracted, performed and warranted by an appropriately licensed contractor, who remains responsible for it. Prices presented by Linc Point are provided on behalf of the relevant contractor under written authority, and may be varied by that contractor where site conditions differ from what was assumed at the time of quoting.
What this means for a property customer
- Your contract for the work is with the licensed contractor, not with Linc Point.
- The contractor invoices you directly and is paid directly. Linc Point does not invoice or collect for trade work under any circumstance.
- The contractor warrants the workmanship and holds the licence and insurance for it.
- Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and Queensland building legislation apply to that contractor in the normal way.
- Linc Point's role is arranging the quote, handling communication, and staying in contact so the job keeps moving.
How quotes are prepared
- Each trade partner agrees its pricing with Linc Point in advance, through an agreed rate card or by supplying the applicable pricing for the job.
- Linc Point puts the quote together and presents it on the trade partner's behalf, under written authority.
- Where required, the relevant trade partner reviews and signs off the quote before it is issued.
- Where the law requires it, the quote and contract carry the licensed trade partner's business name and licence details.
Free Storm Ready Check
The Free Storm Ready Check runs from 7 October 2026 to 31 December 2026, one check per property, subject to availability and to safe access. It is a practical visual check of the outside of the home from safe vantage points, with photos and a short written summary. It is not a building, pest, engineering, insurance or safety inspection, and it is not a certification or warranty of the condition of the property. There is no payment and no obligation to proceed with any work. Any work identified is quoted separately, and goes ahead only if you accept that quote.
What this means for a trade business
- You set your pricing. Linc Point prepares and presents quotes on your rates, under your written authority.
- You contract the work with the customer, perform it and warrant it.
- You invoice the customer directly and are paid directly.
- Linc Point does not direct, schedule, sequence or supervise your work, and does not hold or handle your funds.
- Linc Point invoices only Linc Point fees, under a separate written agreement with you.
Licence verification
We take reasonable steps to verify that a contractor holds a current licence and insurance appropriate to the work before they are engaged. You are entitled to ask for a contractor's licence number at any time, and you can check it yourself free of charge on the QBCC website.
Indicative figures
Any range, estimate or indicative figure given by Linc Point before a contractor has assessed the work is exactly that, and is not a quote. Only a written price from the licensed contractor is a quote.
