Bay, estates, acreage.
Moreton Bay runs from the water to the hills. On the Redcliffe peninsula and around Deception Bay, homes face salt air and wind off the bay. Through North Lakes, Mango Hill and Kallangur it is newer estates, smaller yards and plenty of outdoor gear. Further out around Narangba, Burpengary and Caboolture there is acreage and bigger trees.
- Bayside homes. Rust on roofs, gutters and fixings. Check every year.
- Estate homes. Shade sails, trampolines and outdoor furniture are the usual flying objects. Secure them when a warning comes.
- Two-storey homes. Upper gutters are not a ladder job for most people. Leave them to someone with the right gear.
- Acreage. Trees near the house and sheds. Clear branches and check the outbuilding roofs too.
