Every quote that goes quiet has already cost a site visit, a drive and the time to get it out. This puts a rough number on the work slipping away, using your figures, not ours.
Fill in the four boxes. The last two are your honest estimates, and there is no right answer. The sums run on this page. To see your full result, we ask for your name, mobile, email and suburb. Your details and your numbers come through to Linc, so Linc has a copy and can follow up if you want help.
How the maths works
It is four numbers multiplied together, nothing clever.
- Quotes sent per month, times the share that go quiet, gives you the quotes going quiet each month.
- That, times the share you could win back, gives you the jobs you could win back each month.
- That, times your average job value, gives you the work left on the table each month.
- Times 12 for the year.
A worked example, with made-up numbers
Say a business sends 20 quotes a month and the average job is $2,500. They reckon half of those quotes go quiet with no follow-up, and that one in five of the quiet ones would book with proper follow-up.
- 20 quotes times 50 percent is 10 quotes going quiet
- 10 times 20 percent is 2 jobs
- 2 jobs times $2,500 is $5,000 a month
- $5,000 times 12 is $60,000 a year
Those numbers are invented to show how the sum works. They are not industry figures, and they are not a promise of what follow-up will do for you.
What this number does not tell you
- It is revenue, not profit. Materials, wages and your time still come out of it.
- It is only as good as your estimates. Be honest with the last two boxes.
- If you are already flat out, extra jobs need extra capacity to do them.
- It is a rough guide to help you decide where to spend effort, not a forecast.
If the number surprised you, read why quotes go cold. Or skip the reading and hand the whole front end to us. We take the enquiry, put the quote together, present it and follow it up until there is a real answer.
